About

The systematic targeting of civilian lives and infrastructure, including power and communication networks, has inflicted a devastating toll on Gaza and communities across Palestine and Israel.

Eyewitness accounts are being suppressed in Gaza and the West Bank, leading to a significant blind spot in the availability of reliable information, including critical human rights documentation.

There hasn’t been a more urgent time for civil society to come together to counter the spiraling effects of mis/disinformation, hate speech and incitement— and strengthen our collective ability to document, debunk, archive, preserve online content, and build preparedness to deal with the war-induced vicarious trauma on our respective communities.

Our response is to work with a coalition of partners to ensure critical resources, including, for example, guidance on operating under communications blackouts, documenting abuses and filming for evidence, preserving key evidence from your devices and social media apps, fact-checking and countering misinformation and hate speech online, digital security, working with distressing imagery, safeguarding mental health and preservation from vicarious trauma, protection from doxxing, and Israeli spyware potentially being used to target individuals and civil society organizations, etc. are widely accessible and available.

Who are these resources for?

1. Eyewitnesses and Practitioners in Gaza, Palestine, Israel, and Surrounding Areas:

  • Those involved in documentation.

  • Field reporters covering events in the region.

  • Investigators and lawyers.

2. Fact Checkers and Researchers (Global):

  • Individuals and teams dedicated to verifying and validating information.

3. OSINT and Analysis Practitioners (Global):

  • Those seeking Open-Source Intelligence and analysis methodologies.

4. Human rights and civil society organizations in high-risk zones in need of resources that are easy to use, adapt and share with the communities they are serving.
